Our Flag Day event had a remarkable turnout this year, with 200+ in attendance. Last year was great, but this year? Even better!
To celebrate the grand opening of our new office location, we combined a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with our Flag Day celebration and had our 20’ Flag Pole installed on the morning of Flag Day 2022.
The scouts from Troops 1910 and 1920 showed up this year to help receive and retire old tattered flags. They also handed out over 80 new American flags and mounting hardware.
We also had a priceless moment I know you’ll love to hear —
A lady walks up to get her flag, and one of the youngest kids (a Cub Scout) with the biggest smile on his face asks her, “Are you here to pick up your flag?” “Why yes, I am,” she replied. Still smiling, the young boy asked, “Would you like me to carry it out to your car?” She said, “Thank you, but I think I can handle it myself.” Immediately she noticed the young man’s smile quickly turn into a frown, but being quick on her feet, she said, ” Would you like to help me carry it to my car?” His big smile immediately returned, and he proudly responded, “I would!” and then carried the flag to her car.
On the grill, special thanks goes to Ken DePeal, and Bill Davis, who cooked up and served 75+ burgers and 125+ hot dogs in around two hours when it was 100+ degrees out! Grilling created a little extra excitement when the smoke from the grill worked its way through the front door as clients came in to see the new office and fill their plates. Our office smoke detectors went off so we opened the windows, moved the grill, and got back to celebrating!
My staff and I love this event, and of course, you know I get fired up about new flags flying at our customers’ homes. But just as much, we love seeing our clients at events and interacting with them face-to-face. We want to thank everyone who came out and supported us for this event and for trusting us as your agency of choice for your insurance needs!
