Ken joined the Dean Ballenger Agency in July 2021 after serving as a pastor for almost 30 years. He graduated from Indiana Wesleyan in 1992 and then in 2006 he secured a Masters Degree in Ministerial Arts. He’s now a Licensed Insurance Representative for Home, Auto, and Life.
Unlike Jared and Christian, Ken did *not* play collegiate basketball at IUK; he was briefly a pitcher on the Wildcats baseball team at IWU.
Anything in common with Dean? They both have sons serving as officers in the USMC, they are both married to nurses, they are both left-handed, and get this — they also share the same birthday!
Ken married his incredible wife Karen in August 1992. They have two adult children, and couldn’t be more proud of them! Their oldest, Mason, married an amazing daughter-in-law, Aly, and they are the proud parents of Ken and Karen’s first beautiful granddaughter! They live in California where Mason serves with the USMC. Their youngest son, Marcus, is a pastor living in the Indianapolis area and serving with a logistics company.
Ken and Karen both love hanging out with friends and neighbors, trying out new restaurants, attending church, and just plain chilling out on the back porch. When it comes to sports you’ll find them cheering for the University of Michigan, the Atlanta Braves, and the Buffalo Bills. They love to travel – especially to see the granddaughter! – but their favorite spots involve sun, sand, and seafood.
Ken is a follower of Christ and his favorite Bible verse is Proverb 19:21, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
What clients are saying about Ken:
“I’m not easy to track down, but Ken was so patient with me and took the time to wait for a time that worked best for me. And then he explained our rates and the coverage we were getting. He saved us money AND increased our coverage. That’s pretty awesome! Thank you all for such a smooth process. Oh, and I’ll also add that I live an hour away from your offices, but Ken worked to get me set up online, paperwork and all. Thank you!”
